Are We Human | Kamal | Spoken Word
"Ya Allah I seek justice from the wealth they would hoard, from an ummah that neglected the hungry and the poor, that slept on a full stomach while we were starving next door."
65 years on.
Imagine the terror and horror they must have felt as they were pushed to the Sea.
Deir Yassin massacre occurred on April 9, 1948, and by May 15th, all of the major cities of Palestine had been cleansed of Arabs and about one half of the 750,000 to 800,000 Palestinian refugees had been ethnically cleansed.
This was the beginning of the expulsion of the Palestinians Arabs from Haifa and from Palestine.
If you are driven by your enemies to succeed, you have already lost. If you are driven by your critics to succeed, you will never please them. If you are driven by your friends to succeed, you will lose many on the way. If you are driven to be your best, you will never see your best.
But, if you are driven to successfully meet your Lord, your enemies will end up respecting you, your critics loving you, your friends close to you, and you yourself no longer concerned of your self. Only then you will Succeed, and may you find Success.
As you watch this debate, reflect over the day where you will be brought forth to try and debate for your own life. The Moderator will be Allah, and you will square off against the Devil.
Except your answer to every question Allah will pose will be: “The Devil made me do it”
and the Devil’s reply to your every claim will be: “But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah ] before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment.” [14:22]
The throat pains from holding back the distress and if your eyes blinked, they’ll send tears cascading down your cheeks. There’s a bit of confusion regarding the exact emotion you’re feeling, but all you know is that you’re in pain. All you know is that you’re hurting. All you know is that this situation sucks.
& it seems like every horrible moment projects itself in front of you and you’re reminded of the horrible person you are and the bad situations you tend to be involved in. You’re reminded that nothing ever goes your way and that life isn’t fair. You’re reminded that everyone has it so easy and here you are … your throat throbbing from holding back the anger and the sadness and the pain and the hurt .
Close your eyes and let the tears release your anguish. Let the tears release your stress. Let the tears release your pain. Remember your purpose and that which you were made for: to serve Allaah. So serve Him by praising Him during the hard times and the easy times.
Allaahu akbar for the laughter, Alhamdulilaah for the tears. Subhan’Allaah for the pain, Laa ilaaha ill Allaah for the ease.
These moments of pain will last as long you allow for them, so give your pain to Allaah as you supplicate to Him. Let your anguish and frustration and sadness speak for you and ask Allaah to ease your affairs. Ask Allaah to make a way out for you. Ask Allaah to strengthen you. Ask Allaah to protect you. Ask Allaah to rectify your affairs. If you don’t ask, how will you receive?
Don’t let these moments of weakness make you lose hope in Allaah. Don’t let the rejected Shaytaan make you waste your time reminiscing about the bad. Don’t allow him to cause you to immerse yourself in the pain. Seek refuge in Allaah from Him and wipe the tears from your face as you ask Allaah to wipe your sins away. Ask Allaah for all that you want, and have hope in Him.
Have hope in Allaah, for when hope in Him is lost; doors of anguish open. & when the doors of anguish open, only pain is felt.
Have hope in Allaah and never neglect asking Him for anything. Don’t neglect in asking Him to remove your pain.
& to Allaah is our return. To Allaah is our return. To Allaah is our return.
Taji Mustafa interview in Australia: Prophet movie insults + Muslim world sentiments.
MashaAllah, he is so articulate. Addressed matters, such as the establishment of a khilafah, head on and didn’t water issues down to appear socially acceptable - left the interviewer speechless.
